杰出教授和研究人员（EB-1/2)

杰出的教授或研究人员属于第一优先中的第二类。具体要求包括：

  1. 1. 在本专业领域内起码有三年的教学或研究经验。
  2. 申请人需要在美国的大学，研究所，或公司中的任职为永久性质 (Permanent).
  3. 若私人企业，则要求公司中要有至少三个研究职务。
  4. 申请人需要至少满足以下6 条件中的任何2条， 以证明自己的贡献得到国际或国内的承认：
  5. 获得过重大的奖励或奖项；
  6. 是本专业国家级专业团体，协会的重要成员(理事，副会长，等)；
  7. 研究成果得到过重要报章杂志报道；
  8. 在本专业重要杂志上发表过文章，著作，或出版过书籍
  9. 曾在本专业领域作出过重大的贡献；
  10. 曾受邀担任评委或单独评阅他人文章或作品；

凡符合要求的申请者必需雇主出面，自己不能提出申请。
